Astirakas in the church of Agios Konstantinos in Astiraki
Astirakas (Styrax officinalis) in Astiraki settlement lies on the fringe of the village and is a perennial tree. According to tradition, the village was named after this tree. When the church of Agios Konstantinos was about to build, the residents were placing the icon in the construction area and the next day they were finding it on the other side of the village, in a root of a tree. This incident happened many times so the residents decide to build their church next to astirakas and to name the village Astiraki.
